On the 25th of July, MV GREEN SAPPHIRE, owned by MITSUI OSK LINES LTD (“MOL”), ended its 36-day dock repair work and set sail on the following day with the active cooperation of Chengxi Shipyard and other parties. During its stay at shipyard, ballast water management system (“BWMS”) and scrubber system had also been retrofitted. Greentec provided the supervising service for the dock repair and BWMS retrofitting, as well as the turnkey solution for scrubber retrofitting, including engineering design, material procurement and installation.
Since this year, foreign ship owners have had no access to domestic shipyards due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Based on the demands of clients and market, and combined with the advantage of its project management team of more than 30 people, Greentec launched dock repair supervising service in a timely manner. Up to the end of July, Greentec has completed dock repair supervising services for 15 vessels from world-known ship owners, including J.J.UGLAND, Petrobras, NYK, MOL, etc, and is expected to complete supervising work of BWMS retrofit, scrubber retrofit and dock repair for more than 300 vessels in 2020.
Thanks to its familiarity of domestic working practice of shipyards, materials and labor costs, Greentec engineers have taken a good control of project quality, schedule and budget with their rich experiences, professional knowledge and effective communications. Among others, Greentec pays high attention to safety issues and takes all necessary protective and preventive measures. Based on all the above, Greentec engineers have well completed supervision of all the dock repair works, including painting, main engine overhaul, diesel generator overhaul, valve and pump inspection, hydraulic system test, stern shaft and propeller inspection. Throughout the dock repair period, Greentec engineers keep in close communication with ship owners, report the progress of the project in time and give professional advices, so that the ship owners can understand dock repair quality and progress in real time and realize remote management.
